2024 Cognizant Classic Round 1 Thursday tee times and pairings
The upcoming PGA Tour event features World No. 2 Rory McIlroy who is paired with defending champion Chris Kirk and last week’s Mexico Open winner Knapp.
The Cognizant Classic is the upcoming tournament on the PGA Tour, marking the start of the “Florida Wing” of the circuit in 2024. Previously known as the Honda Classic, the event was renamed Cognizant Classic for the 2024 season. The Japanese car manufacturer sponsored the tournament from 1982 to 2023.
The golf tournament is scheduled to begin on Thursday, February 29, with Rory McIlroy being the top-ranked golfer leading the field. Although McIlroy has only participated in two PGA Tour events so far this season, he has already won the Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour. The tournament will take place at the PGA National Members Club and will feature some of the top stars in golf. Some of golf’s greatest players, including Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, and Lee Trevino, have competed in this tournament. Rory McIlroy himself claimed victory in 2012.
In the meantime, the PGA Tour has released the pairings for the first-round play. On Thursday morning, Byeong Hun An, Callum Tarren, and Dylan Wu will tee off first at 6:45 a.m. ET on hole number one. At the same time, Ben Martin, Maverick McNealy, and Andrew Novak will start their play on hole number ten.
