2024 Farmers Insurance Open Round 3 Friday tee times, pairings and featured groups
The third round of the 2024 Farmers Insurance Open is here and with that, we’re looking at the tee times for Friday at Torrey Pines’ famous South Course.
After two rounds of play its leader Stephan Jaeger and second-placed Nicolai Hojgaard who are out in front of the pack. Of course, we expect things to change in Round 3 but before we get to that, let’s take a look at who tees off and when.
Nick Dunlap has surprised at the 2024 Farmers Insurance Open
If you didn’t know, the Farmers Insurance Open is one of the PGA Tour’s more iconic events and that’s before we get to the majestic course that sits on the Pacific Coast at Torrey Pines. Needless to say, there are some major names in the field, but as we’ve seen in recent tournaments with the likes of Nick Dunlap, that means nothing. Indeed, following two weeks in Dubai, Dunlap is working on a sleep deficit out in San Diego and has played only nine holes on the North course during a practice round. It was in the first round when he played the South Course, which was followed by an all-day fight on the North Course on Thursday.
This is all to say that as one of the few who has little to no experience at Torrey Pines, it’s incredible to see how well he’s playing. “It’s a good question,” he said Thursday when asked how he’s managed to perform. “Sometimes not knowing where the trouble is is a good thing, but now I know so it’s going to be different on the weekend probably. You can see most of the course, so it’s about trusting the execution part of it a little bit more. I think that’s very important at times that you focus on that more than just looking at the golf course, what you’re supposed to do, and go internal and focus on yourself and your own ball-striking and trying to put it in the fairway. I feel like sometimes that’s a bit underrated and I feel like this week it’s been the main focus.” This of course brings us to the details.
