The American golfer and the most recent Masters winner has a one-shot lead over Sepp Straka at 16 under. Collin Morikawa is two shots behind Scheffler at 14 under, with Ludvig Aberg, Sahith Theegala, Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele, and Rory McIlroy still in contention.

Morikawa was battling with his strokes on approach this week, an area that is typically his strength. However, his short game has been exceptional, and he keeps himself firmly in the mix. Despite not hitting his irons as close as he would like, Morikawa’s accuracy off the tee has kept him in play, enabling him to navigate the course efficiently. He is currently just two shots off the lead, and his strategy of laying up on certain holes has paid dividends, demonstrating his adaptability and tactical prowess.

Meanwhile, Sepp Straka is making his presence known with a stellar performance, sitting solo second. Straka is proving to be a formidable competitor with a blemish-free 67 today, highlighted by key birdies. His consistent play and positive attitude position him well for a potential upset despite not being the favored contender. Straka’s calm demeanor and strong short game could prove crucial in challenging Scheffler’s dominance.

Scheffler remains the player to beat. With another flawless round, he leads the field in strokes gained off the tee and strokes gained approach, displaying his consistency. As he heads into the final round, Scheffler is on the brink of another noteworthy victory, reinforcing his status as the top contender on the tour.

Maintaining this level of excellence has become the norm for Scheffler. His unwavering performance has raised expectations to unprecedented heights. Even with the pressure of being the favorite, Scheffler continues to deliver, setting a new standard for consistency in professional golf.
