Alcaraz back in training in El Palmar
The Spaniard is still recovering from his right forearm injury but he has been practicing at the Murcia Country Club to prepare for the French Open.
Carlos Alcaraz is back to training holding a racket after a few days of resting to recover from his right forearm injury at the Madrid Open. After being unable to play in Monte Carlo and Barcelona, the 21-year-old star practiced at the Real Sociedad Club de Campo Murcia, in El Palmar.
Alcaraz had already done movements without a racket at the club, as he did days before playing in Madrid, where he lost in the quarterfinals against Andrey Rublev, the eventual champion.
Alcaraz, 100% focused on the French Open
An edema in the affected area, which has worried him since the discomfort began, prevented him from competing in Rome.
Now he is preparing to arrive in the best possible conditions at the French Open, where he will defend the semifinals in 2023 when Novak Djokovic didn’t allow him to get to the final after the cramping episodes due to tension and nerves.
‘Carlitos’ will keep training in El Palmar before heading to Paris. He will be the No. 3 seed in the French capital, behind Novak Djokovic, eliminated in the third round of the Italian Open, and Jannik Sinner, who didn’t play in the tournament due to a hip problem.
