Alcaraz will be back into action at Queen’s

The Spanish star is already thinking of Wimbledon and will play at the Queen’s tournament in his official debut on grass this season.

Update:
The Spanish star is already thinking of Wimbledon and will play at the Queen’s tournament in his official debut on grass this season.

Carlos Alcaraz is ready to start a new challenge with the beginning of the grass campaign, after the cramps he suffered at the French Open’s semifinals against Novak Djokovic.

The Murcia native expected to lift the second Grand Slam tournament title of his career in Paris, and he was on his way to achieving it, but his impressive performance against Nole that saw him win the second set and tie the match translated into an easy win for the Serb in the remaining sets after the heavy cramps that affected him.

Tennis fans, though, will be able to enjoy his game soon, as he has confirmed he will be back into action at the Cinch Championships at the famous Queen’s Club next week. The current US Open champion let his fans know on social media, tagging the event’s Twitter page and adding a ‘soon’ emoji next to it.

Alcaraz wasn’t able to feature in the tournament last year due to injury, but he has recovered from his issues and will be looking to lift the trophy in London.

Carlitos has proven to be an all-around player that can perform at the highest level on all surfaces. However, he hasn’t played on grass a lot in his career, as this part of the season is quite short.

He lost to Jannik Sinner in the fourth round at Wimbledon last year and will be looking to go all the way this time around, hoping to be one-hundred percent fit.

Novak Djokovic will likely be his biggest challenge once again, with the Serb looking to tie Roger Federer’s record of eight wins at the All-England Club and win his 24th major.
