Canelo, open to fight Jake Paul, but under one condition

The Mexican superstar denied any chance of seeing him sharing the ring with the social media celebrity but he seems to have changed his mind.

The Mexican superstar denied any chance of seeing him sharing the ring with the social media celebrity but he seems to have changed his mind.

A potential boxing fight between Saúl Álvarez and Jake Paul had been rumored over the last months, but the Mexican superstar had always rejected that possibility.

However, things have changed now and the Guadalajara native is open to a potential fight with the social media personality and boxer.

Many didn’t give The Problem Child much of a chance when he decided to start a new episode in his life by becoming a boxer four years ago.

However, the younger of the Paul brothers has proven he took things seriously when he decided to put the gloves on. He has had eight fights so far, winning seven of them and losing one via split decision.

Canelo, open to a fight with Jake Paul

The YouTube boxer has been calling out Canelo for a boxing match quite a few times, but all he has got is an ironic laugh and an emphatic ‘no’ from the current undisputed super middleweight champion.

However, Canelo, who has been criticized for his last performances against Caleb Plant, Gennady Golovkin, and John Ryder, changed his speech in an interview on The Breakfast Club.

Yeah maybe, but not right now. For me, not right now because I’m chasing other things in my career but you never know, maybe later”, Canelo said about a potential clash with Paul.

The Mexican replied with a “Yeah” when asked if the boxing match could take place when Álvarez hung up the gloves.

The Mexican is now fully focused on his upcoming fight against Jermell Charlo, who will move up two weight divisions to challenge Eddy Reynoso’s pupil in a fight where Canelo’s four belts will be on the line.
