Canelo vs GGG: Who is the favorite? Odds and predictions
One of the most anticipated boxing matchups will take place on Saturday, Sept. 17. Who is favored to win between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin?

One of the biggest and most-awaited boxing events is scheduled to unfold on Sept. 17 between Saul Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin. They will be fighting the last of their trilogy, which began in 2017, continued in 2018, and will be concluded this weekend at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
There is a lot at stake on Saturday, aside from the sizable fight purse that will ensure that both fighters will be well-compensated for their efforts.
Their first fight ended in a draw, and Golovkin (and many boxing fans) claimed that he had been robbed of a victory. Their second encounter was another close fight that ended with a win by Alvarez, but many felt that GGG once again deserved the victory that he was denied.

Their next fight will be the final opportunity to nab a convincing win that would dispel some doubts as to who is the superior boxer.
Alvarez is coming from a defeat suffered at the hands of unbeaten Dmitry Bivol in their light-heavyweight encounter in May, and he will want to redeem himself after such a humbling experience.
Canelo is coming off his second career loss to Dmitry Bivol back in May — so why is the 4-years-in-the-making, highly anticipated rematch with Gennady Golovkin (finally) happening before the Bivol rematch?

He is now 40 years old, and will be battling a bigger Alvarez who is at his physical prime, and who is also extra-hungry for a win after his defeat earlier this year.
Gennady Golovkin on the Canelo Alvarez trilogy fight: “While four years is too long between the last fight and this one, I am relieved Canelo did not wait until I was 50 to agree to a third fight. For a while, it seemed that was a strong possibility.”
