In an astonishing outburst, former super middleweight champion Carl “the Cobra” Froch has laid bare a bitter feud with heavyweight star Anthony Joshua. The pair, who once shared a trainer and a friendship, have seen their relationship spiral into a fiery war of words.

The gloves are off as Carl Froch, now 47, has thrown down the gauntlet, challenging Joshua to a face-to-face showdown to resolve their differences once and for all. Froch, never one to mince his words, has accused the former heavyweight champ of being a “quitter” and suggested he lacks the courage to confront him man-to-man.

Froch, who won hearts and headlines with his warrior spirit in the ring, took to his YouTube channel, Froch On Fighting, to expose the venomous WhatsApp exchanges with Joshua. In a scandalous twist, Froch revealed how the Watford-born powerhouse branded him a “prick” during a heated text exchange. Joshua’s blunt retort? “Because I think you are.”

The drama erupted after Joshua’s recent press conference with Daniel Dubois, where tensions were already running high ahead of their highly anticipated showdown at Wembley Stadium on September 21. Froch, clearly fuming, leaked the messages and lambasted Joshua, dredging up the painful memory of his shocking seventh round loss to Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019; a defeat that the heavyweight had to claw his way back from just six months later.

In a blistering tirade, Froch slammed Joshua for his perceived cowardice, pointing out how Joshua deleted several abusive messages before failing to pick up Froch’s calls. “It’s schoolboy stuff,” said Froch. “It’s like plastic gangsters. It’s pathetic really. He messaged me again overnight and deleted four messages. I’ve had a barrage of abuse, but I don’t mind meeting up and dealing with it like men. Because, if you’re going to send me messages, abusing me, then deleting stuff, and then you don’t pick your phone up when I try to give you a call man to man. Then what am I going to do? I’m going to expose you for what you are.”

Joshua, now 34, is on a hot streak with four consecutive wins, having rebounded from two devastating losses to Oleksandr Usyk. His last victory was a spectacular second-round knockout of UFC star Francis Ngannou in March, adding another highlight to his illustrious career.

Meanwhile, Dubois, the 26-year-old phenom, is also riding high after his own resurgence. Following a tough defeat to Usyk, Dubois has bounced back with two impressive victories, including an eighth-round knockout of the formidable Filip Hrgovic just last month.

The stage is set for an epic showdown between Joshua and Dubois, but the real fireworks might just be outside the ring, as Froch and Joshua’s bitter feud threatens to boil over.
