Carlos Alcaraz throws down a challenge to Spider-Man at Wimbledon
Alcaraz’s Wimbledon warm-up took a playful twist when actor Tom Holland showed up and set up a showdown with the Spanish star.

Carlos Alcaraz got in some last-minute prep before his Wimbledon quarterfinal clash with Britain’s Cameron Norrie—but it wasn’t just another day on the practice courts.
The Spanish tennis star trained on Court 16, away from the usual Aorangi Park practice area, with fans looking on. Joining him for the session was fellow quarterfinalist and rising American talent Ben Shelton. But the biggest surprise came from the sidelines.

That’s where “Spider-Man” made an unexpected appearance—minus the suit. British actor Tom Holland, best known for playing the Marvel superhero, stopped by the All England Club to watch Alcaraz train and chat with the 22-year-old phenom.

Alcaraz’s new favorite sport
After the workout, the two bonded over golf, with Alcaraz—who’s recently hit the links with former Wimbledon champ Andy Murray—apparently agreeing to a future round with Holland.
“I saw you playing golf as well, eh? Good swing,” came Alcaraz’s icebreaker.
“We should play,” Holland responded immediately, sensing the opportunity for a round. “I’ll give you my number and we’ll get a game in.”
Holland’s final intervention was met with a swift “For sure,” so it looks as if it’s game on.
The actor, who first rose to fame as a child in The Impossible, seemed right at home among the tennis elite. Whether he swings a racket as well as he slings webs or swings a club, however, is unknown.
