The Montreal Canadians are the most successful team in the NHL, but it’s been a while since the Habs have lifted the Cup. They have a total of 24 Stanley Cups, having won their first in 1916. Led by Jean Beliveau, Dickie Moore, Doug Harvey and Bernie Geroffrion they won it all 12 times in the span of 20 years including five straight from 1956-60.
They took a short break from winning over the next two years but then went back-to-back-to-back-to-back form 1975 to 1979. The Habs got one in the 80′s, and then won their last one in 1993.
Henri Richard is was a crucial part of the team in the 50s, 60s and 70s. He won a record 11 Stanley Cups in his 20 year career.
The Toronto Maple Leafs sit in second with 13, and the Detroit Red Wings have 11.
