McGregor placed two bets on Spain and Argentina to win the Euro and Copa America, a total of $450,000. If both sides become champions, he will win around $2,000,000. His wager on Spain was riskier, as Argentina were the clear favorites to win the American event and had an easier path to the final.

The Irishman could continue to increase his fortune, one of the biggest ones in sports history. His business decisions and global image have boosted his profits in the MMA world, where he became a transgressive figure, and in boxing, he was elevated to the Olympus of the highest-paid athletes with only one fight, when he faced and lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2017.
