Devin Haney predicts a demolishing win over Ryan Garcia

‘The Dream’ sent a warning message to Garcia with two weeks to go for one of the most anticipated fights of 2024.

‘The Dream’ sent a warning message to Garcia with two weeks to go for one of the most anticipated fights of 2024.

April is a month full of sporting events worldwide, but this year, it seems it will offer one of the most exciting contact sports agendas in recent times.

After one of the biggest UFC cards ever on April 13, boxing will take over for one of the most-anticipated clashes of the year. Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia will step into the ring in a fight where fans will enjoy a clash of styles that promises to be pretty interesting.

Haney is the unbeaten defending WBC super lightweight champion and the favorite to record the 32nd win of his career. Meanwhile, KingRy will try to record the most important victory of his career after defeating Oscar Duarte in his last fight.

The former undisputed lightweight king Haney went up in weight to try to capture another world title at super lightweight, something he did in his first fight in the category. Although his fight against Regis Prograis was considered dangerous given Rougarou’s talent, the 25-year-old San Francisco native put on a clinic to dominate his opponent throughout 12 rounds.

Garcia, who failed to achieve greatness when he was defeated by Gervonta Davis almost a year ago, will be looking to pull off the upset and prove his doubters wrong.

Haney; “I’m going to beat the s*** out of Garcia”

However, Haney seems quite confident about his options when he meets the charismatic Garcia inside the ring.

Both fighters met in the amateurs a few times, so they know each other well. Haney has the better resume and seems the more disciplined boxer, although Garcia’s skills and speed could put Haney in trouble. However, the super lightweight champion foresees getting an impressive win.

I’m going to beat the s*** out of him. I’m going to beat him so bad we won’t need a rematch. The world won’t want to see a rematch”, he said.

“(...) The world hasn’t seen the best of Devin Haney. Every fight I’m getting better and better”, he added.

Haney, pound-for-pound one of the best boxers in the game, admitted that he lost his respect for Garcia while both men had been promoting the fight due to Garcia’s behavior.

“I have respect for Ryan. We shared the ring six times as kids, we came up together. But over [the promotion], I have lost a lot of respect for him. I am a true professional in everything that I do. This guy is a f***ing clown, him and his family. And I’m getting this guy out of boxing”, he concluded.

Whoever comes out on top will be in a great situation to look for another big fight at 140. Isaac Cruz, who recently defeated Rolly Romero, Subriel Matias, and Teofimo Lopez are some of the top names that the winner of the Haney-Garcia showdown could face next.
