On Sunday, the Augusta Masters tournament concluded with an unforgettable win by the talented 27-year-old Texan golfer Scottie Scheffler. He confirmed his career status by securing his second victory, finishing with a remarkable -4 to -11 in the last round. In contrast, Tiger Woods’ performance was disappointingly lackluster, resulting in his worst appearance in the tournament. Finishing in 60th place with a score of 5 for 16, Woods’ era seems to have ‘come to an end.’ However, it remains uncertain if he will add another major to his final trophy list.

On the other hand, Scheffler has demonstrated his immense talent and perseverance, living up to his expectations as a pre-tournament favorite during the 88th edition of the major. He began the tournament with an impressive bogey-free opening round, moving within a stroke of the leading Bryson DeChambeau. Scheffler’s recent results have led many to believe he is destined for greatness.

In 2022, Scheffler won his first green jacket, and now he is primed to make a run at another green jacket and a third title in just over a month. However, Scheffler has promised to leave the tournament “immediately if his wife, Meredith, goes into labor. Scheffler and his wife are high-school sweethearts and are expecting their first child in a few weeks. Similarly, Sam Burns, Scheffler’s Ryder Cup colleague and roommate, was in the same situation and said he would withdraw from the tournament if his wife, Caroline, went into labor.

After Scheffler’s stunning win, he was asked to message his wife from Butler Cabin. A tearful Scheffler declared his love and promised to return home immediately. He added that it was an extraordinary time for both of them. Scheffler admitted that his attention would soon shift to family, but he warned his rivals that it would not last long.
