F1 2024 Drivers and teams: Formula 1 grid confirmed
The grid for the next season of the ‘Grand Circus’ will be identical to that of 2023. Hamilton’s move to Ferrari will not be effective until the next season.
After two titles decided so far in advance, Verstappen won the drivers’ World Championship in the Qatar sprint and Red Bull the constructors’ championship in Japan, and the absolute dominance in the victory count from Milton Keynes in 2023 with 21 of 22 wins possible (19 of them for MadMax), the 2024 Formula 1 season began, even if it was imaginary, much earlier than expected. Not even a win by Sainz, who was the only driver capable of disrupting a whole set of victories by the energy team in Singapore, made it possible to keep away thoughts of the future instead of focusing on what is going on the asphalt.
That signings in the Great Circus are never last minute things. But this time around when even the season hasn’t started with the preseason tests, Ferrari made the announcement of the signing of Lewis Hamilton who will take Carlos Sainz out of the equation, leaving Mercedes at the end of the year, and heading to Maranello. This means that this campaign will not have any new movements around the teams’ lineups, but it does confirm a historic move for the driver who, along with Schumacher, is the best in history, at the record level. The Briton’s seven titles came under the umbrella of the German firm and with this farewell, Sir Lewis is simply thinking about ending Red Bull’s dominance.

Whether someone will be able to stop the hegemony of Red Bull before the arrival of Hamilton at Ferrari is the great unknown. Thus why there will be no big movements around teams. At the top, both for the energy team as well as Mercedes, Ferrari and Aston Martin, everything will remain the same with the eight drivers who, at the moment and seen throughout last year, they will have the best cars on the grid.
In the back, nothing changes either, on a grid where Ricciardo will join from the beginning, the Visa RB Team to complete the lineup (former Alpha Tauri) in 2024. A the team where names have changed more than the drivers.
