Keegan Bradley was the big winner at the 2024 BMW Championship at Castle Pines Golf Club in Denver, both in terms of the tournament and the FedEx Cup rankings. The newly-appointed Ryder Cup captain only just sneaked into the second tournament of the playoffs but will head into the season-ending Tour Championship in fourth place after taking the top prize in Colorado.

Four players break into FedEx Cup top 30 at BMW Championship

Bradley was one of the four players who broke into the top 30 just in time for next week’s event at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. Fellow veteran Adam Scott finished in a tie for second, moving from 41st to 14th in the rankings, making him the second biggest mover after the winner.

Tommy Fleetwood’s tie for fifth at Castle Pines saw him jump nine spots to 22nd, while Chris Kirk final-round 69 earned him a T9 and enabled him to rise six to 26th.

Justin Thomas also booked his place in the Tour Championship in dramatic fashion. The two-time major winner started the week 22nd but was in serious danger of missing the cut after being tied 46th out of the remaining 48 players at the end of the third round. However, a final-round 69 was just enough for him to claim the last spot at East Lake.

Which players haven’t qualified for the 2024 Tour Championship?

Four players dropped out of the top 30. 2023 Open champion Brian Harman (31st) was in after round three but was overtaken after finishing with a double bogey on 18 when a par would have been enough to qualify.

Fellow major winner Jason Day’s hopes were effectively ended when he dropped four shots on 14 and 15, his T33 finish seeing him slip to 33rd in the rankings.

Recent PGA Tour winner Davis Thompson dropped eight places to 34th after his disappointing T41 finish in Denver, while Denny McCarthy fell five to 35th after tying for 26th.

Alex Noren (37th) looked likely to be in after round three but a final-day 75 saw him fall out of contention. Other players who miss out are Will Zalatoris (38th), 2022 US Open winner Matt Fitzpatrick (40th) and fan favourite Max Homa (46th).
