Update:

Aryna Sabalenka has won the 2025 US Open after a 6-3, 7-6 victory over home favorite Amanda Anisimova, who had been chasing her first Grand Slam title at Flushing Meadows.

How many Grand Slams has Aryna Sabalenka won?

Top seed and defending champion Sabalenka went into Saturday’s final as the firm favorite to claim her fourth Grand Slam.

The Belarusian defeated the USA’s Jessica Pegula to win the US Open for the first time in 2024, seven months after securing a second successive Australian Open triumph in Melbourne. Sabalenka has yet to win Wimbledon or the French Open, which will be among her targets in 2026.

The search for a maiden Grand Slam goes on for Anisimova, who made unwanted history when she reached the Wimbledon final in July.

Aryna Sabalenka’s US Open prize money

Of all the major tournaments, the US Open offers the highest financial rewards. Champion Sabalenka takes home $5 million for winning the women’s singles tournament in New York, a $1.4 million increase from the $3.6 million on offer in 2024.

There is equal prize money for men and women at the US Open, which means either Jannik Sinner or Carlos Alcaraz will collect the same amount on Sunday.

Anisimova, the runner-up, will pocket $2.5 million.

Sabalenka’s WTA ranking

Already ranked No. 1 in the world, Sabalenka stays at the top after winning the final at Flushing Meadows. Anisimova, meanwhile, began the tournament as the world No. 9 but has jumped five places to No. 4, a new career high, as a result of her run to the final.
