The Spaniard defeated Casper Ruud to win the US Open for the first time in 2022. He then went both Wimbledon (2023, 2024) and the French Open (2024, 2025) in consecutive years. The Australian Open is the only Grand Slam he has yet to taste victory in.

Of all the major tournaments, the US Open offers the highest financial rewards. Champion Alcaraz takes home $5 million for winning the men’s singles tournament in New York, a $1.4 million increase from the $3.6 million on offer in 2024.

There is equal prize money for men and women at the US Open, with ladies’ singles champion Aryna Sabalenka collecting the same amount on Saturday.

Sinner the runner-up, will pocket $2.5 million.

As a result of winning the US Open men’s final at Flushing Meadows, Alcaraz leapfrogs Sinner to regain the No. 1 spot in the ATP ranking. The Italian drops to No. 2, well clear of Alexander Zverev.
