The 2026 Sony Open was won by American golfer Chris Gotterup, who finished two shots clear with a score of -16.
Gotterup started fast in Hawaii, carding a 63 in round one and finishing off with a 64 on Sunday’s round four. The 26-year-old picks up a third PGA Tour triumph, following his win at the Myrtle Beach Classic (2024) and the Genesis Scottish Open (2025).

For the past 60 years, the Waiʻalae Country Club has played host to the Hawaiian Open, one of the longest-running events on the PGA Tour.
Now known as the Sony Open in Hawaii, the tournament forms a part of the tour’s FedEx Cup Series with tour points on offer for the top-performing players.

Following his success at the 2025 edition, Canadian golfer Nick Taylor was back in contention in Hawaii after carding a score of -7 through his first three rounds. But after that promising start the reigning champion shot a round of 70 on Sunday to finish with a score of -9.
Next up on the 2026 PGA Tour is a trip to La Quinta Country Club in California for the American Express tournament. Previously known as the Desert Classic, the third stop on the tour will be played across January 22-25.
