How much prize money did Kurt Kitayama win at the 2025 3M Open?

Kurt Kitayama is the latest winner on the 2025 PGA Tour, finishing a shot ahead of Sam Stevens to secure the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, near Minneapolis.

With the tournament coming just days after the conclusion of the 2025 Open Championship, the majority of golf’s biggest stars, including Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, opted to get some rest before the FedEx Cup playoffs get underway with the FedEx St. Jude Championship in August.

And world No. 97 Kitayama was the man who took full advantage, posting a superb 65 in Sunday’s final round to finish on 23-under par and clinch a second PGA Tour victory. The 32-year-old’s only previous triumph came in the 2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational, a Designated Event at the time. 

Kitayama’s prize money at the 2025 3M Open

One of the other reasons for the relative lack of superstars in the 3M Open is that it isn’t one of the more lucrative events on tour.

Excluding additional events, which are played in the same week as majors, there are only three ‘regular’ events on this year’s schedule which have a smaller prize purse.

There was $8.4 million to be shared out among the field at TPC Twin Cities, with winner Kitayama taking home $1.51 million for his efforts over the four days.
