How much prize money did Nick Hardy and Davis Riley win at the 2023 Zurich Classic of New Orleans?
You’d better believe that there was a significant payday for those who were left standing in New Orleans when the curtain came down on the 2023 Zurich Classic.
Sunday saw some impressive play from two life-long friends as they took the win at TPC Louisiana. Needless to say, with a hefty purse that win was made all the more special. Here’s a look at the payouts for those who made the cut.
Hardy & Riley get their first PGA win
If you caught the final-round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans on Sunday, then you would have seen Nick Hardy and Davis Riley shoot a final-round 65 to claim their very first PGA Tour victory. Indeed, the pair made four birdies in a five-hole stretch late in the round in the foursomes format, which in turn allowed them to widen the gap between themselves and Canadians Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor, eventually winning by two shots over. With the win, Hardy and Riley both took home $1,242,700 in prize money out of a total purse of $8.6 million. “This is so special and to share it with one of my best friends out here on tour is just a dream come true,” Riley said.
Where Hadwin and Taylor are concerned, it’s got to be said that they were impressive as they shot 64-63 on the weekend, however, it just wasn’t good enough and with that they’ll both pocket $507,400 each. Right behind them came Wyndham Clark and Beau Hossler who came into the final round leading by one over Sungjae Im and Keith Mitchell. It would be fair to say, that both Clark and Hossler were also on the hunt for their first PGA titles, but in the end, they could only post a one-under 71 which was good enough for a solo third place. Mitchell and Im shot 72 to finish sixth. There was also Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay, the 2022 Zurich Classic winners, who tied for fourth place after consecutive 66s on the weekend. It’s worth mentioning that Hardy and Riley are now both exempt on tour through the 2025 season. To that extent, they are also eligible for the PGA Championship, the Memorial (a designated event) and next year’s Sentry Tournament of Champions and Players Championship (also designated events).
