The 2024 WM Phoenix Open, played this week at TPC Scottsdale, Arizona, is officially over. After four days of competition, we can conclude that the tournament attracts some of the top golfers in the world and will still form part of the PGA Tou as one of the more iconic events on their calendar.

The tournament may not have been a PGA Tour signature event like last year, but it still attracted a strong field of players, including many top-ranked golfers. This tournament is famous for its lively crowds, especially at the par-3 16th hole, and it did not disappoint this year either. Held during the week of the Super Bowl, it has become a custom for the golfing community to enjoy the invocable partying and have raw and pure fun. Probably one of the reasons why it is called the “People’s Open.”

This year’s tournament winner is Nick Taylor, the 35-year-old Canadian who won the Canadian Open last season, the first home-country winner since 1954. Last year’s tournament had a higher status and a prize pool of $20 million, where Scottie Scheffler won $3.6 million. However, this year, the prize pool is $8.8 million, and the winner, Taylor, will receive $1.584 million. Winning this week’s tournament, he will earn 500 FedEx Cup points, which could be crucial in qualifying for the FedEx Cup playoffs later in the year and a two-year exemption at the PGA Tour. This will also be his fifth win at the tour, for which he will receive 58 world-ranking points.
