How much prize money did Viktor Hovland win at the 2023 BMW Championship?
With a blazing final round of golf at Olympia Fields, Norwegian Viktor Hovland stormed into the lead and took the top prize.
The second week of the FedEx Playoffs is now under the keel and it was an event full of one-upmanship. Rory McIlroy shot an outstanding 65 in the first round, followed by Max Homa bettering him with a course record 62 on round two.
Not to be outdone, Scottie Sheffler shot a 64 in round three to give him a share of the lead. But on the final round, Viktor Hovland shot a blistering 61 to set a new course record and take the top prize.
With that sizzling round, Hovland becomes the first player in a decade to shoot under 28 in the back nine, and he finished the day at nine under par.
His winnings of $3.6 million is the top payout for the tournament, followed by Scheffler and Fitzpatrick who each got $1.76 million for their tied second place finishes.
