Update:

Viktor Hovland was the 12th winner of the 2025 PGA Tour season thanks to a dramatic victory at the 2025 Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Florida.

Viktor Hovland pips Justin Thomas to victory in Florida

The 27-year-old went into Sunday’s fourth round tied for the lead but looked set to lose out to Justin Thomas, who started two shots back but birdied seven of his first 15 holes to move to the top of the leaderboard.

However, the American’s bogeys at 16 and 18 proved costly, with back-to-back birdies for Hovland at 16 and 17 decisive.

The Norwegian carded a 4-under 67 to finish the tournament on 11-under, one shot ahead of Thomas.

Of the other star names in the field, Billy Horschel (-8, T4), Shane Lowry (-6, T8), Xander Schauffele (-5, T12) and Tommy Fleetwood (-4, T16) all finished inside the top 20, although Jordan Spieth had to settle for a tie for 28th after finishing on 2-under par.

The victory is Hovland’s seventh on the PGA Tour and comes more than a year and a half after his previous triumph, which was at the 2023 Tour Championship.

Hovland’s prize money for winning the Valspar Championship
