Excitement is building as the first-ever Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches is set to take place from February 29th to March 3rd after one more successful outing of the PGA Tour in Mexico. Formerly known as the Honda Classic until 2023, this revamped tournament is expected to captivate golf enthusiasts with its thrilling competition and generous prize money.

The 2024 Cognizant Classic will be played at the prestigious PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and marks a significant chapter in the tournament’s history, transitioning from its previous identity as the Honda Classic, which had been held there since 1982.

Although the Cognizant Classic is not officially designated as a PGA Tour signature event, it has attracted attention from top-tier players, with notable names such as Rory McIlroy and Matt Fitzpatrick confirmed to compete. Chris Kirk, who won last year’s Honda Classic, will carry the prestigious title of defending champion into this new tournament era. Rory McIlroy is appearing as the favorite to win, boasting the best odds of +800 going into the event. Although he only competed in two PGA Tour events this calendar year, he won the Dubai Classic at the DP World Tour competition.

With a staggering $9 million prize up for grabs, the Cognizant Classic promises to be a spectacle as golf’s finest vie for their share of the winnings.
