How much prize money will Alcaraz get for winning Queen’s?
The Spaniard, after winning the final, is back as the world’s number one and, in addition, takes a succulent booty for his first victory in a tournament on grass.
Carlos Alcaraz is the new champion of the Queen’s tournament. The Spaniard wins the first title of his career on grass and, in addition, recovers number one in the Pepperstone ATP world ranking, a privileged position in which he will head into Wimbledon next month.
Alcaraz, who beat Australian Álex de Miñaur 6-4 6-4 on center court at the Queen’s Club this afternoon, was playing only his third grass-court tournament. The win, his fifth title so far this year, also enabled him to leapfrog Novak Djokovic in the rankings and brought a substantial financial reward. A total of 2,195,175 euros are distributed, which represents an increase of almost 3% compared to last year’s figures.
Of the total prize money on offer, the champion Alcaraz will take home 477,795 euros. The top cash prize amount has increased by almost 20% since last year. His opponent in the final, Alex de Miñaur, will receive 220,880 euros. And both Holger Rune and Seb Korda, the two semifinalists, will earn a total of 117,715 euros each.
The amount of money that Alcaraz pocketed for his triumph at Queen’s is exactly the same as what Aleksandr Bublik received for winning the Halle tournament, also in the ATP 500 category.
