Phil Mickelson is one of the most renowned golfers. He won the Green Jacket at the Masters three times: in 2004, 2006, and 2010. His wins secured him a lifetime exemption, and he is widely regarded as one of the best golfers in the world. In fact, he has the highest number of wins after Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Tiger Woods.
This year, Mickelson aims to get closer to his greatest rival, Woods, by winning the trophy for the fourth time after securing the runner-up tie last year. He played exceptionally well during last year’s tournament final day, shooting 7-under and scoring a 65. This was his best round at the Masters in 25 years, and it was a testament to his skill and experience as a golfer.
Mickelson is now 53 years old and is heading into his 31st career appearance at Augusta, where he is seeking his fourth green jacket. He is one of only three golfers in history, along with Nicklaus and Woods, to finish inside the top 5 at least 12 times at Augusta. However, repeating his 2023 performance may be difficult for Mickelson. Since winning the Masters in 2010, he has only finished better than T18 three times. He has missed the cut twice during that span and hasn’t had back-to-back top-5 finishes since 2009-2010.
