Jake Paul reveals next fight date after defeating Bourland
The social media celebrity and boxer is ready to step into the ring soon again after recording another straightforward win on Saturday.
Jake Paul has already started what could be the promotion of his next fight. Less than 48 hours after his first-round technical knockout victory over Ryan Bourland in Puerto Rico, the younger of the Paul brothers has announced when he will step into the boxing ring again.
The social media star, who made his boxing debut in 2018, revealed on social media that he will be back in action in April, after not suffering any damage during his last fight.
“We’re baaaaaaaacck… Friday April 26th”, Paul said on his X account.
While Paul is probably interested in being active and trying to look for the 10th win of his professional career, there’s also a possibility he’s referring to a new fight date for Amanda Serrano. The unified featherweight world champion from Puerto Rico, who is represented by Most Valuable Promotions, co-founded by Paul himself, wasn’t able to fight Nina Meike on Saturday.
The reason why the main event didn’t take place is that a chemical used while Serrano was getting her hair done Thursday caused her an eye injury, according to Jake Paul’s business partner, Nakisa Bidarian.
Paul shoots down Ryan Garcia and Tony Ferguson’s callouts
While Paul’s team is probably working on his next opponent, the Ohio native has already received a few fight proposals.
After his TKO victory in the opening round, boxing rising star Ryan Garcia called him out. The former WBC interim lightweight champion mentioned Paul on social media, promising to end his career for “disrespecting my sport.” Paul replied to KingRy during the post-fight press conference:
“Ryan, I love you. You know that, bro. But you’ve got to chill out because there’s a line and you just seem like you’re losing your mind, and acting thirsty and desperate and saying you’re a billionaire when you had one money fight. I’m just saying, just chill, bro. But if you do want to fight, that’s, to me, light work. You’ve got no footwork. And as long as you’ve been in the game, I’m a better boxer than you”.
Paul was also asked about whether he will compete in MMA. The social media star, who is currently signed to the Professional Fighters League (PFL) promotions, answered by saying that he’s ready to take on a UFC fighter if he can free himself and a negotiation is possible with the organization presided by Dana White.
Lightweight veteran Tony Ferguson is one of the names that have admitted to be interested in facing Paul in the octagon. Asked about the possibility of facing El Cucuy, who’s currently on a seven-fight losing streak, Paul said he has no interest in that fight.
“Tony Ferguson, he said he wanted to fight? I don’t want to see him go out like that. That would be sad. He’s a great guy, we don’t want that for Tony”, he replied.
One of Paul’s main goals is to get a rematch with Tommy Fury, the younger half-brother of heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury and the only fighter who has managed to defeat him in his first 10 professional bouts.
