Rumours about Silva’s health

Prior to the fight, according to a report by Marc Raimondi of ESPN, the Arizona Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts Commission met to determine if Silva is fit to fight this Saturday against the YouTuber-turned-boxer.

The governing body’s investigation came about because the UFC legend told MMA Weekly that the 47-year-old had been knocked out twice during previous training sessions.

In Arizona, all fighters must disclose the details of the last time they were knocked out, and there are stricter regulations for fighters above the age of 36.

However, Silva later clarified that the interview was conducted more than a month ago, and that in the video what he said was not very clear because English is not his mother tongue.

The board eventually concluded Silva was fit to fight.

Another cancelled fight for Jake Paul?

The last two fights that Jake Paul agreed to have not been able to take place for various reasons. The first, against Tommy Fury, was cancelled because the British boxer could not visit the United States due to his links with criminals. His second opponent, Hasim Rahman Jr, could not fight because he did not make weight.

After the Silva showdown, Paul is scheduled to fight fellow YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI at Wembley Stadium in 2023.
