Oleksandr Usyk will face Anthony Joshua this weekend for their second matchup in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Usyk won over Joshua via unanimous decision last September in a very convincing manner, and is favored to win their Saturday bout. He is known for his technical fighting style, which boxing legend Mike Tyson acknowledged was something the Briton had to prepare for.

Usyk’s net worth

Usyk has an undefeated record of 19-0, with 13 of those wins being knockouts, and he currently holds the unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles, which he wrested from Joshua. Despite his impressive boxing resumé, the Ukrainian has yet to enter the big leagues if one is to look at his reported net worth.

Per Sportekz, the 35-year-old’s net worth in 2020 was $4 million. It is reasonable to assume that the amount has gone up since then, as he reportedly earned $4.1 million plus 40% of the PPV earnings in his first encounter with Joshua. Usyk also has an endorsement deal with BoxRaw, a boxing apparel and equipment company.

This new total however would still be a far cry from the net worth of his British opponent, which is reported to be more than $100 million.

Their upcoming fight, however looks to make both fighters substantially richer. According to Boardroom TV, the purse for ‘Rage on the Red Sea’ is $150 million. In their first fight, Joshua took the lion’s share of the purse. This time around, the amount will be split evenly between the two boxers.

On top of the base purse, Usyk and Joshua can also look forward to PPV earnings. It is not yet clear how big of a percentage they will get from pay-per-view, but it’s already very certain that win or lose, they will both come out of the fight much wealthier men.
