Laver Cup 2024: teams, captains, matches, schedule and results
The Berlin’s Uber Arena three-day event will see Team Europe looking to deny Team World a third straight win in the prestigious men’s team competition.
The long-awaited tennis competition Laver Cup is set for its seventh edition, which will take place this September in Berlin. Team Europe and Team World will vie for the championship title.
Following a format reminiscent of the famous ‘Ryder Cup’, the event will feature six of the finest tennis players from Europe, under the captaincy of Bjorn Borg, pitted against an equally formidable team of six players representing the rest of the world, led by the legendary John McEnroe.
Laver Cup 2024: teams
Team Europe
Unfortunately for the viewers and the organizers, Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from the Team Europe line-up, but there’s still plenty of star power.
Team World
On the World side, players who previously announced their participation but had to cancel just in the wake of the competition were Australian Alex de Minaur and American Tommy Paul.
Laver Cup 2024: matches, schedule
Just a reminder of how the point system functions: Each match win on day 1 is worth one point; on day 2, it’s worth two points; and on day 3, it’s worth three points. The first team to reach 13 points wins the match.
