Four players remain in contention at Alexandra Palace in North London as the 2024/25 PDC World Championship reaches the climax.

With defending champion Luke Humphries eliminated in the fourth round, 17-year-old darts sensation Luke ‘The Nuke’ Littler remains the favourite to lift the title and the Runcorn born made short work of Nathan Aspinall with a 5-2 win in the quarter-finals.

Littler now faces England’s Stephen Bunting in Thursday’s semi-final with the No. 8 seed advancing as he overpowered Scotland’s Peter Wright with a 5-2 quarter-final win.

All eyes on Littler

Littler was in dazzling form on New Year’s Day in North London and showed little of the sluggish slow starts that we saw in previous rounds.

Averaging an incredible 101.5 during the contest, Littler delivered eight 12 dart finishes in the first four sets and on the few occasions when Aspinall turned on the style with 180’s, ‘The Nuke’ bounced back with big darts.

There were fleeting glimpses of vulnerability from the teenager in the fifth set as he struggled to check out on a handful of occasions but Aspinall failed to avail of the slip-ups.

In the other semi-final, No. 3 seed Michael van Gerwen faces Chris Dobey with the best of 13 set final earmarked for Friday, 3 January.
