Masters 2025 weather forecast: Will it rain this year at Augusta National?

Augusta National Golf Club welcomes a star-studded field of the world’s top golf players for the 89th edition of the Masters, which tees off on Thursday.
Among the 96 players who have been invited to this year’s event, are defending champion Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy - fresh from his victory at the Players Championship, previous winners and runners-up: Jon Rahm and Hideki Matsuyama, Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth , Collin Morikawa, Ludvig Aberg, Xander Schauffele, Bryson DeChambeau...
World number one Scheffler starts out as the big favorite at +450. Scottie could make history by becoming the fourth player to win back-to-back titles - if he wins he will join illustrious company: Tiger Woods (2001, 2002), Nick Faldo (1989, 1990) and Jack Nicklaus (1965, 1966).
The weather outlook in Augusta for the Masters
Practice rounds will be held on Monday, April 7 and Tuesday, April 8 before the tournament gets underway on Thursday morning. There could possibly be delays on Monday with an 89 percent chance of rain although it will have cleared up by Tuesday, which promises to be bright with temperatures hovering around 64 degrees.
The tournament gets up and running with the First Round on Thursday, April 10 when the forecast is for mostly clear skies, a nine percent chance of rain and a slightly cooler temperature of 57 degrees and moderate wind (6.3 km/h SE).
As we move into Friday for the Second Round, southerly winds will drop to 4.5 km/h but there is an increased possibility of rain during play (39%) but otherwise, little change.
After the cut we have ‘Moving Day’ on Saturday April 12 - another bright relatively dry day is predicted with a 32 percent chance of rain and southwesterly winds picking up to reach 6.5 km/h.
Saving the best for last, Sunday promises to be a glorious, clear sunny day with temperatures up to a maximum of 68 degrees, a westerly 5.4 km/h. breeze and just a 12 percent chance that the umbrellas will come out for the final tound.
