Mexico Open: How to watch on TV, stream online | PGA
The PGA Tour moves to Mexico, to Vidanta Vallarta golfing course for the Mexico Open, with the American Tony Finau looking to defend his title.
The Mexico Open is a professional golf tournament and one of the four annual World Golf Championships. The tournament, which was first held in 1944, has been played on various tours. It was re-added to the PGA TOUR schedule in 2022. This year, the event has been rescheduled in the PGA Tour’s 2024 calendar and will be played two months earlier in the season. The tournament is hosted at Vidanta Vallarta, an exclusive location in Mexico. The golf course at Vidanta Vallarta runs along the Ameca River, and every hole offers stunning views of the Sierra Madre mountains. The course includes 106 bunkers; its greens are large, undulating, and well-protected. The Mexico Open at Vidanta is a tournament that provides PGA TOUR opportunities to Latin American players.
Last year, an American golfer, Tony Finau, won the Mexican Open at Vidanta. He became the champion of Mexico’s national championship after defeating Jon Rahm in an exhilarating final round, marking his sixth career victory. Finau consistently scored in the mid-60s, which ultimately led him to a three-stroke triumph over the defending champion Jon Rahm.
The 2024 Mexico Open will feature several notable players in the top 50 of the Official World Golf Rankings, including Nicolai Hojgaard, Emiliano Grillo, and Ryan Fox. Finau is the favorite to win this year’s tournament with 6-1 odds, followed by Hojgaard (16-1) and Grillo (18-1).
