Multi-million contracts between Chávez Jr and Sinaloa authorities come to light
The former boxer, already facing legal trouble in the US, is now entangled in a financial scandal in Mexico.

Mexican boxer Julio César Chávez Jr is once again making headlines. The son of the legendary “Grand Champion” was detained last week in the United States – and now, new revelations show that both he and the Electoral Tribunal of the State of Sinaloa (TEESIN) are involved in multimillion-peso contracts.
According to the magazine EME EQUIS, a real estate and construction firm called JH – for which Chávez Jr. is the legal representative – had deals in place with the public body.

The publication backed up the claims with documents, receipts and contracts signed between TEESIN and Desarrolladora, Constructora e Inmobiliaria JH, a company registered under the tax ID DJH100929QQ5. These agreements reportedly span from 2018 to 2024. Chávez Jr. has had an arrest warrant out since 2023. The outlet reported that the total amount involved reached 801,000 pesos (about $44,000).
The report stated: “According to leaked documents, Julio César Chávez Jr. is listed as the legal representative on contracts, while his father appears as a supplier. A wedding planner was previously listed as legal representative and uses the same email and tax address as the company.”
