Both players will go face-to-face in ‘Sin City’ in what promises to be a spectacular event that will be broadcast live on Netflix.

The tennis community is pumped by the return of Rafa Nadal to the tennis courts after almost a year without competing due to a hip injury.

The 22-time major champion recently announced he will be back in action in Australia, where he will take part in the Brisbane tournament, before flying to Melbourne to feature in the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam event of the year.

But if that wasn’t enough good news for tennis fans, Netflix has announced that Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz will face each other in an exhibition match on Sunday, March 3rd, called The Netflix Slam, as part of the platform’s new live content schedule. The event will be held at the Michelob Ultra Arena at MGM Resorts International’s Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

Rafael Nadal. Carlos Alcaraz. Two tennis superstars. One epic matchup served LIVE on Netflix,” read a post on the platform’s X account.

Nadal, excited to play against Alcaraz in Las Vegas

After the announcement was made, the Manacor native said he was looking forward to meeting Alcaraz in Las Vegas for their much-anticipated clash.

“I’m very excited for my first visit to Las Vegas, one of the most iconic and entertaining cities in the world”, Nadal said in a statement.

“I’m also very excited to be playing with my fellow countryman Carlos Alcaraz. I am sure it will be a fantastic night of tennis”, he stated.

The two-time Grand Slam tournament champion Alcaraz also reacted to the announcement, saying he was happy to face Nadal.

I’m honored and so happy to be sharing the court with Rafa in Las Vegas. He’s an all-time great, of course, and his records and achievements speak for themselves. Rafa also is one of the nicest guys on tour and I look forward to our match on March 3″, he admitted.

The current world No. 2 and 668 have met on three occasions, with two wins for the King of Clay and one for Alcaraz.
