Nadal’s new business venture
Rafael Nadal is currently considering his plans after he retires from tennis and deciding where to invest the substantial wealth he has accumulated.
He’s well-versed in the tourism industry, being from the gorgeous Mediterranean island of Majorca. Recently, the renowned “king of red clay” collaborated with the Spanish hotel chain “Meliá” to launch a joint brand called “Zel.” And now, they’ve successfully opened their first facility.
He held the premiere of his hotel, “Rafa,” on his island. He has always associated vacations with the Mediterranean and Majorca and enjoys sailing, which the hotel provides excellent opportunities for. The hotel location is ideal, near the most prestigious areas in Mallorca. It is only a 20-minute drive from the airport, approximately five minutes from the well-known Puerto Portals port in Europe, and conveniently close to the Sierra de Tramuntan in Palmanova. Additionally, it is located next to a beach with over 1,000 meters of white sand. There will be a total of 165 rooms available, which includes 21 Junior Suites and Suites, as well as two swimming pools.
Although he is preparing for a new career, he has not given up his old one, which brought him worldwide recognition and wealth. Nadal is recovering from an injury that has kept him out of matches since January’s Australian Open. When he withdrew from Roland Garros this spring, he stated that he would not play until the end of the year and that he would retire after participating in selected tournaments next season.
We will have to wait until the end of this year or the beginning of next to find out if Nadal will retire or return to the tennis court. Although he has been able to recover before, his future is uncertain. Additionally, Nadal may participate in the Davis Cup this season but not play. He is determined to compete at the Olympics in Paris next year, especially since Roland Garros will be the host. However, he currently does not meet the primary requirement of playing in the Davis Cup in the years leading up to the Games. If Nadal participates in the semi-final group competition in Valencia in September and the final tournament in Malaga in November, he could fulfill this condition in his home country. Despite his injury, he could still join the national team. Even if he never goes out on the field, being in the group would fulfill this condition.
