Update:

Novak Djokovic’s quest to win a record-extending 25th men’s Grand Slam title of his career is off to a solid start, with the Serb making light work of Great Britain’s Dan Evans to reach the third round of Wimbledon 2025.

‘Nole’ cruises into third round at Wimbledon

The 38-year-old superstar, seeded sixth for the tournament, will take on compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic in round 3 after a 6-3, 6-2, 6-0 win over Evans, after which he was asked about how much longer he can keep competing at the very top of the sport and, inevitably, his rivalries with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Going by Djokovic’s response, he clearly has incredibly fond memories of their iconic battles, which he looks forward to revisiting once he hangs up his racket.

Djokovic’s jokes about plans with Federer and Nadal

“When I set the racket aside, I’ll sip margaritas on the beach with Federer and Nadal and just reflect on our rivalry and everything,” he revealed on Centre Court.

The Swiss and Spaniard are still regularly cited as tennis’ greatest ever players, despite Djokovic having surpassed their Grand Slam tallies.

Djokovic vs Federer vs Nadal: Grand Slam wins

Federer, six years Djokovic’s senior, won the last of his 20 majors at the Australian Open in 2018, at which point the Serb had won just half of his current tally.

Only three of the 22 Grand Slams won by Nadal, who is a year older than ‘Nole’, have come this decade, compared to Djokovic’s eight.

The current world No. 6 has very much been tennis’ dominant force in the first half of the 2020s, although many long for the days when he, Federer and Nadal went head-to-head as the ‘Big 3’.
