Update:

Pablo Dodero, a personal trainer, has debunked in an interview with As some of the most common ideas among CrossFit practitioners, a discipline he knows from the inside: “When I started, I was very rigid about CrossFit,” he admits.

The false promises of CrossFit

Over time, his perspective has matured. While he acknowledges the value of this discipline for improving overall fitness, he also points out that it has often been sold under unrealistic premises. “When CrossFit was born, it promised things that weren’t possible,” he says. According to Dodero, exaggerated expectations were created around how quickly results could be achieved or the skills one could master in a short time. “We all want to see results immediately,” he reflects.

“The body is a machine”

One idea he emphasizes most clearly is the enormous potential of the human body to change—but within reasonable, well-guided limits. “It’s been proven that the body is a biological machine that adapts and evolves,” he explains, stressing that the key lies in a progressive and realistic approach. In line with this, he insists that “anything you want to learn can be achieved within a logical framework,” as long as you respect timing and avoid shortcuts.

The danger of social media in the CrossFit world

Dodero also warns about the dangers of following advice or routines from unreliable sources. “There are so many people on social media that make me think: what am I even watching?” he laments, referring to the abundance of viral content without a professional foundation. His advice is clear: “If you like something, find a professional to teach you.”

Far from extremes or dogmas, his approach is based on balance and evidence. Because if anything becomes clear after listening to him, it’s that the body—even if it is an adaptable “machine”—requires patience, knowledge, and consistency to reach its best version.
