Though he’s by far one of the most successful golfers in the game today, the American made the controversial decision to jump from the PGA Tour to LIV Golf. With that monumental move, his future participation in PGA events was brought into question, but the Masters at Augusta is a different cup of tea.

What is Phil Mickelson’s net worth?

Despite the immense success that he’s enjoyed across more than two decades in the game of golf, you might be surprised to learn that Mickelson has never actually ranked as the world’s No. 1. Of course, that hasn’t stopped him from becoming one of the wealthiest players out there. As of March 2023, Phil Mickelson has an estimated net worth of $300 million. Yet, what exactly does that look like when evaluated? To be clear, the majority percentage of his annual earnings come from endorsement deals, as well as other business ventures such as his partnership with Roger Cleveland with whom he designed several golf clubs, including the Callaway Mack Daddy PM Grind wedge.

An estimated overview of Phil Mickelson’s career earnings:

  • Salary In 2015 – $51 million
  • Salary In 2017 – $40 million
  • Salary In 2018 – $40 million
  • Salary In 2019 – $50 million
  • Salary In 2022 – $200 million

It’s worth noting that Mickelson’s signing with the LIV Golf league was worth a reported $200 million which understandably accounts for the significant increase in salary for 2022 which you can see above. With his career still in full swing, we can expect to see these numbers increase over the next few years.

How many times has Phil Mickelson won the Masters at Augusta?

‘Lefty’ is playing the final round of the Masters today with Jordan Spieth in his group. Mickelson has done quite well over the years at Augusta Nationa, which sets up nicely to his game. 2023 is his 30th appearance at the Masters. He has won three times in 2004, 2006 and 2010. He was runner-up in 2023 and 2015 and has finished in third-place five times: 1996, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2012.

Mickelson was Low Amateur in his Masters debut in 1991. In May 2021, at the age of 50, Mickelson won the PGA Championship at Kiawah Island in South Carolina, becoming the oldest player to win a major championship.

As we are writing this, he is currently 1-under par, 10 behind the leader Brooks Koepka. He won’t win this year, but his play has been very impressive after over a year without competing at the highest level, now that he has moved on to the LIV Tour. He won a major at 50-years-old, we’ll see if next year he can compete at the Masters with 53.
