Rafael Nadal ready “to die” to return to his best form

The Spanish maestro was disappointed after being eliminated in the ATP Finals, a competition he has never won, and promised to get back to his tennis peak.

Update:
The Spanish maestro was disappointed after being eliminated in the ATP Finals, a competition he has never won, and promised to be back to his tennis peak.

He won the Australian Open and the French Open this year, but an early exit in the ATP Finals has left Rafael Nadal with a bitter taste in his mouth.

The 36-year-old tennis star fell 6-3, 6-4 to Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime in Turin to follow up on a defeat by Taylor Fritz on Sunday.

That left him virtually out of the competition, something that was confirmed after Casper Ruud won the first set against Fritz in the night session match.

Ready to do whatever it takes to get back on top

The 22-time Grand Slam winner admitted that after the US Open, where he was beaten by American Frances Tiafoe, his performances haven’t been the best, due to the injuries that left him inactive for some weeks.

However, after an illustrious career, Nadal doesn’t seem tired of winning titles and stated that he’s ready “to die” to get back to the old Rafael Nadal that fans have been watching play for years.

“I don’t know if I am going to reach that level again. But what I don’t have any doubt is that I’m going to die for it”, he said.

Nadal added: “I just need to recover all these positive feelings and all this confidence and all this strong mentality that I need to be at the level that I want to be”.

At the age of 36, everything gets more difficult but if the Spaniard openly challenged mother nature, it means that Rafa and tennis fans are probably in for another exciting tennis year in 2023.
