Update:

The 2025 PGA Tour regular season is over, with the Ryder Cup the next major event on the horizon in golf. However, fans will have the chance to see most of the US team in action before then, with 10 of the 12 players selected, including world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, slated to take part in the Procore Championship at Silverado Country Club in Napa, California from September 11-18.

A smaller purse, but star-studded field

The Procore Championship is one of seven FedEx Cup Fall tournaments taking place before the end of September and carries a significantly smaller total prize purse of $6 million.

For context, most regular season events, excluding majors and signature events, offer between $8.2 million and $9.9 million, with the Mexico Open ($7 million) being the only exception.

Seeing the top stars in attendance is a turn up for the books. In 2024, Scheffler did not play any FedEx Cup Fall events and would not have done so this year if not for the Ryder Cup.

Team building ahead of Europe showdown

US Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley has revealed his team will use the Procore Championship as a team-building opportunity and to fine-tune their games before facing Europe at Bethpage Black in Farmington, New York, from September 26-28.

Who will actually compete?

But not every member of the team will join Bradley in Napa. While Scheffler will be joined by J.J. Spaun, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Collin Morikawa, Cameron Young, Russell Henley, Harris English, Ben Griffin, and Sam Burns,

LIV Golf defector Bryson DeChambeau is not eligible to play in PGA Tour events.

Schauffele undecided over Ryder Cup prep

That leaves Xander Schauffele, who is eligible but has not committed to the tournament. His manager reportedly said he is “just undecided.”

At the BMW Championship two weeks ago, the two-time major champion was asked about a potential appearance in Napa and said, “I wouldn’t say there’s an expectation for us to play.

Schauffele has until September 5 to decide whether he will join his Ryder Cup teammates, minus DeChambeau, in California.
