SIGA elects new Council, approves 2025 strategy in pivotal General Assembly
The Sport Integrity Global Alliance had its Annual General Assembly with members from around the world, and announced a newly elected Council.


The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) took a major step into its next chapter Tuesday, announcing a newly elected Council and the adoption of a sweeping new global strategy during its Annual General Assembly.
SIGA charts new era with election of leadership Council, strategic overhaul
Held virtually, the assembly brought together members from around the world, who unanimously ratified a broad agenda that included constitutional changes, a revamp of the membership model, and the formal adoption of the 2025 strategic plan. The event marked a turning point for SIGA, as the organization sharpens its focus on governance reform, international expansion, and industry-wide collaboration over the next four years.
At the center of the assembly was the election of SIGA’s Council for the 2025–2029 term, ushering in a slate of new and returning leaders from across the global sport and governance landscape:
Elected Council Members
- Giovanni Tartaglia Polcini (Chair) - Independent
- António José Silva - President, European Aquatics
- Athena Constantinou - Founder & CEO, APC Compliance
- Densign White - CEO, International Mixed Martial Arts Federation
- Miguel Gouveia de Brito - Chairman & Founding Partner, TrueClinic
- Mohammed Hanzab - Chairman, International Centre for Sport Security
- Noura Hassan Al Jasmi - President, UAE Badminton Federation (Independent)
- Roberto Fiore - Managing Partner, LP Avvocati
They are joined by two ex-officio members:
- Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros - SIGA Global CEO
- Anca-Maria Gherghel - Co-Chair, SIGA Youth Council

To fulfill SIGA’s gender parity commitment, four additional female members will be co-opted onto the Council in the coming weeks.
In addition to governance matters, the assembly approved several forward-looking initiatives:
- Expansion of Sport Integrity Week into Sport Integrity Action Month, with new programming and regional rollouts including the launch of SIGA Asia.
- Adoption of SIGA’s 2025 Global Strategy and Master Calendar, which outlines the organization’s key milestones and reform agenda.
- Ratification of Two New Members: Malta-based blockchain firm Chiliz and U.S.-based advocacy group Soul Touchin’ Experiences LLC, both aligned with SIGA’s integrity-first mission.
- Approval of the 2024 Annual Report, which highlighted major achievements, global partnerships, and operational performance over the past year.
- Amendments to the SIGA Constitution designed to streamline governance and reflect the alliance’s evolving structure.
- Overhaul of the Membership Model, paving the way for broader inclusion, cross-sector engagement, and enhanced value for members.
“This marks an important milestone in SIGA’s evolution,” said Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, SIGA Global CEO. “With the unanimous approval of key strategic and governance decisions, our members have clearly reaffirmed their commitment to our mission and endorsed the roadmap proposed by the Executive Committee. This vote of confidence is both a validation of the work we’ve done and a green light to accelerate the transformation we’re leading across the global sports industry.”
Medeiros also praised the newly elected Council, calling it a “strong, engaged, and diverse group of leaders” ready to carry forward SIGA’s mission of integrity, transparency, and accountability in global sport.
