Astronaut captures her fave waves  from International Space Station

Christina H Koch is an American engineer and NASA astronaut who took a singlet signed by surf champ Kelly Slater into space. But why?

On 14 March 2019, Koch was sent  to the International Space Station, where she took part in the first all-female space walk in history.

She stayed on the ISS until 6  February 2020 - almost a year. That broke the record for the longest continuous time in space by a woman.

During her 5,248 orbits of the Earth, Koch made sure to keep abreast of the World Surf League Championship Tour - she’s a huge, huge surfing fan.

And she took advantage of her privileged position to capture some shots of the waves on which world surfing’s elite tournament was held.
