Teofimo López and José Pedraza will fight December 10th at Madison Square Garden
The fight between Teofimo Lopez and Jose Pedraza will be the main event on the card on December 10 at Madison Square Garden.
Teofimo López (17-1, 13 KO’s) will return to Madison Square Garden after losing his IBF, WBA and WBO titles against George Kambosos Jr in November of 2021.
Now, 'The Takeover' will face José Pedraza (29-4-1) on December 10 at the iconic venue in New York. The fight is scheduled for 10 rounds in the junior welterweight category.
The fight will be broadcast on ESPN and ticket sales for the event will begin on November 1. The broadcast will begin at 9:00 p.m. ET, following the NCAA Heisman Trophy award ceremony.
López won his last fight by defeating the Mexican Pedro Campa by technical knockout on August 13, while Peraza had a split decision draw against Richard Commey on the 27th of the same month.
Rest of the card
The rest of the feature card from Madison Square Garden includes spotlight matchups between Jared Anderson and Jerry Forrest; Xander Zayas vs. Alexis Salazar; and Keyshawn Davis against Juan Carlos Burgos.
The first televised bout will have Davis, a silver medalist at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, against Burgos in an eight-round matchup at lightweight. Later, Zayas, a 20-year-old Puerto Rican, will face the veteran Salazar for eight episodes. The pre-fight matchup for Lopez will be a heavyweight bout between Anderson and Forrest.
