Terence Crawford vs Israil Madrimov undercard is stacked

Terrence Crawford is making a bid for a third weight class on August 3 against Israil Madrimov and the rest of the card looks tasty as well.

After being the man to beat at 140lbs, Terence Crawford stepped up to 147 and had a career-defining evening against Errol Spence Jr last summer. Now, Bud is making a bid for a third weight class as he makes his debut at 154lbs against WBA junior middleweight champion Israil Madrimov on August 3.

It will be more than a year since his last fight and a step up in weight to boot, but there is already speculation that Crawford could line up a fight with Jermell Charlo should he defeat Madrimov.

The undercard for the evening will feature Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz defending his WBA light welterweight title against Jose ‘Rayo’ Valenzuela.

Former unified heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz will also feature in a bout against Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller and former four-division world champion Leo Santa Cruz will face former four-division champ Abner Mares in their trilogy match.

Ruiz is staying just active enough to keep his name in the mix for a shot at Fury or Usyk, or perhaps even a trilogy match against Anthony Joshua.

There are also rumors that Tim Tszyu vs Vergil Ortiz is being lined up for the card as well. If that fight comes to fruition then this could just turn out to be one of the most stacked cards of the summer.
