The cocktail stealing the show at the US Open: What a Honey Deuce costs on court and how to make it at home
The Honey Deuce cocktail has been a classic U.S. Open drink for over two decades with the 2025 version made with Grey Goose vodka, freshly squeezed lemonade and Chambord raspberry liqueur.

The Honey Deuce is the official signature cocktail of the US Open tennis tournament. It’s a popular and refreshing drink that has become as iconic to the event as Pimms is to Wimbledon.
The cocktail is a simple and balanced mix of Grey Goose vodka, fresh lemonade, and a splash of raspberry liqueur (such as Chambord) and this year at the US Open tournament costs roughly $23.
Its signature garnish is a skewer of three frozen honeydew melon balls, which are meant to resemble tennis balls. This clever garnish is a key part of the drink’s name and appeal.

Name: The name “Honey Deuce” is a playful pun, combining “honey” from the honeydew melon garnish with “deuce,” the tennis term for a 40-40 tie.
At the US Open, the drink is served in a highball glass, often a collectible acrylic cup with the tournament’s branding. It’s a highly sought-after souvenir for fans with the drink being a simple cocktail that can be easily recreated at home.

Make your own ‘Honey Deuce’
Making your own Honey Deuce at home is a simple with the official recipe being straightforward and the process doesn’t require any bartending equipment.
Here’s a standard recipe for a single serving, along with some tips for making it your own:
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 ounces of vodka: The official cocktail uses Grey Goose, but any good quality vodka will work.
- 3 ounces of fresh lemonade: Homemade lemonade is best for a more balanced flavor, but a good quality store-bought lemonade will also work.
- 1/2 ounce of raspberry liqueur: Chambord is the brand used in the official version, but any premium raspberry liqueur will give you the signature pink hue and fruity flavor.
- Honeydew melon balls: This is the key garnish. You’ll need about three frozen melon balls per drink.
Instructions
- Prepare the Garnish: Using a melon baller, scoop out three balls from a honeydew melon. Freeze them for a few hours or at least 30 minutes. This will help them stay firm and cold in the drink. Once frozen, skewer them onto a cocktail pick or toothpick.
- Fill the Glass: Fill a highball or Collins glass with ice.
- Build the Drink: Pour the vodka and then the lemonade into the glass.
- Add the Liqueur: Slowly pour the raspberry liqueur over the top. This will create a nice visual gradient as the liqueur sinks into the drink.
- Garnish and Serve: Add the skewered honeydew melon balls to the glass. Serve and enjoy!
