Tiger Woods will play with son Charlie in 2023 PNC Championship. What other PGA stars are playing?

Clearly on the road to a comeback, the legendary golfer is now set to play in the upcoming PNC Championship with an interesting partner: his son Charlie.

With his participation in the upcoming Hero Championship confirmed, it appears the five-time Masters champion is set on getting back to his best as he’s now confirmed that he will be playing alongside his son in this year’s edition of the tournament.

Tiger Woods & son to play in 2023 PNC Championship

If there was any doubt about Tiger Woods’ commitment to making a return to the course, we can safely put that to rest. According to reports, Woods will play in the upcoming PNC Championship which runs from December 14th - 17th and will be played at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida. Interestingly, Woods will be part of a father-and-son team that will also include his 14-year-old son, Charlie, with whom he finished second in the 2021 edition of the tournament.

Of course, the news comes following a similar announcement from former world No. 1 who stated that he would also be playing in the upcoming Hero World Championship, a tournament that will be played at Albany in the Bahamas between November 30th and December 3rd. Indeed, that appearance will mark Woods’ first PGA Tour start since undergoing ankle surgery back in April.”It is an amazing gift to be able to share my love of golf with Charlie, and we genuinely do look forward to playing in the PNC Championship all years,” Woods said in a statement.

Tiger & Charlie have a history at the PNC Championship

That they do as this will actually be the fourth time that the pair is taking the course together in the tournament. In their very first appearance, they finished eighth and just last year were able to go one better with a seventh-place finish. Needless to say, they will be looking to improve this year as they take on a field made up of golf stars and their respective family members. A tournament that began as a father-son event back in 1995, the PNC Championship has since grown to include a range of relatives of major-winning players including daughters and even parents. Other players at the event will include Steve Stricker and daughter Izzi, who happens to be a Wisconsin state high school champion, as well as Padraig Harrington and son Ciaran. There are several others too, including John Daly, Nelly Korda, Vijay Singh, Annika Sorenstam, and Justin Thomas to name a few.
