Trump gives his take on Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua fight: “A display of great courage”
Despite losing by knockout, President Donald Trump was full of praise for YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

Jake Paul is still reeling from a brutal KO loss to Anthony Joshua, a fight that ended with a double fracture of the jaw for the YouTuber-turned-boxer.
But despite the punishing defeat, Paul received unexpected praise from President Donald Trump.
Paul underwent surgery following Friday night’s bout, in which Joshua overwhelmed the 28-year-old American with size, power and experience. While the result was decisive, Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social to commend Paul’s performance after watching the fight on Air Force One.
Trump described Paul’s performance as “a display of great courage against a very talented and large Anthony Joshua.”
Jake Paul, a vocal supporter of Trump, has made his political alignment public in recent years. Ahead of last November’s presidential election, Paul urged his followers to vote for the Republican candidate in a video shared across his social media platforms.
Paul was also in attendance at Trump’s inauguration ceremony at the White House earlier this year. It was during that event that he crossed paths with Mike Tyson, whom he had fought several months prior in one of the most talked-about crossover boxing events of the year.
While Paul now faces a lengthy recovery and uncertainty about his boxing future, the public endorsement from the president adds another unusual chapter to a career that continues to blur the lines between sport, entertainment and politics.
