Update:

After missing out on gold in Beijing four years ago, the United States women’s ice hockey team are keen to make amends this time around as Milan takes its turn to host the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Team USA’s Olympic veterans

Head coach John Wroblewski has taken a star-studded 23-player roster to Italy - a group which includes 20 skaters and three goaltenders. Among the big names are seasoned veterans Kendall Coyne Schofield and Lee Stecklein, who both have amassed three Olympic medals - as well as captain Hilary Knight, who is eyeing a fifth medal to add to the gold (2018) and three silver medals (2010, 2014, 2022) already in her collection .

Team USA head into the event as the reigning IIHF world champions, as the team that tops the world ranking and also as the big favorites alongside their neighbors and long-term rivals, Canada.

The United States and Canada are both in Group A, pitted with Switzerland, Czechia and Finland - the five top ranked teams. Wroblewski’s team begin their campaign against the Czechs on Thursday (10:40 a.m. ET - USA Network and Peacock), with their showdown against Canada, the final group game, set for Tuesday 10th.
