This was not a night for teams on their way to pull off big upsets. The Boston Celtics stopped one step away from the biggest comeback, and Dallas Stars failed to secure Game 7 despite losing 3-0 in the series.

The landing on the ice was quite rough for them. It was clear from the first period that Vegas had one goal: securing a place in the grand final after a long five years. The visitors took the lead in the fourth minute with a goal from Carrier. By the end of the first half, they had scored three goals, with Karlsson and Kolesar also finding the back of the net.

Although there were many turnovers, the Vegas defense, led by goalkeeper Hill, blocked all attempts at the goal. In the second period, only one goal was scored, and Marchessault was the one who scored it. The home team could not catch a break, even out of desperation. Two minutes into the third period, Karlsson scored his second goal, removing doubts about the game’s outcome and raising the lead to 5:0. Amadio scored the final goal, setting the score at 6:0 and securing the first participation in the franchise’s history in the grand final.

I thought (the Golden Knights) played a perfect elimination game,” Stars head coach Peter DeBoer said. “If we’re not going to win, there are a lot of guys in that dressing room that I hope can win a Cup.

The Florida Panthers are headed to the finals to face off against the Golden Knights. Last Wednesday, Florida completed an impressive sweep of the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Final. Interestingly, neither team has ever won the coveted Stanley Cup.

The final series of the Stanley Cup begins on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET, and the first game is played in Vegas. As well as the second and the eventual seventh decisive one.
